This incredible floor was featured at the NWFA Expo and part of it took home the NWFA Wood Floor of the Year in the Best in Circle/Curves/Bent Wood Category!
Ourada Designs brought their client's love of the outdoors, inside. This floor also tells a story!
It starts out in a central area of the home by the stairs where a handcrafted eagle and osprey inlay can be seen fighting over a fish. Then, they go their separate ways. The eagle, who doesn't get the fish, flies along the Spokane River—which is seen in the form of a 40+ foot epoxy inlay—back to Lake Coeur d'Alene to hunt at the entry.
The osprey keeps the fish and flew back along the Spokane River to its nest which includes four eggs, one for each of the client's children. The nest actually fills a space in front of the refrigerator where a water leak had damaged the existing floors.
The two eagles and ospreys together are comprised of more than 3,000 individually cut, multi-species wood pieces!
This work of art was finished with Oil Plus 2C Pure.
